Early childhood assistant - supply

We are currently looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and qualified teacher or teacher assistant to join our team.
The supply teacher would replace a current employee in the event of their absence. They would follow all policies and procedures in providing a quality care environment for children aged 18 months to 6 years old. Duties may include: supervision of children to ensure their safety and well being at all times, preparation of breakfast, snacks and lunch, diapering/toileting assistance, cleaning and sanitizing, and engaging children in active learning.

Requirements:
- ECA Diploma / Certificate or equivalent or 1 year experience working with children in a licensed child care setting.
- Current and clear Criminal Reference & Vulnerable Sector Checks.
- Valid CPR/ First Aid certification – Level C
- Up to date Immunization Record
- Experience with childcare
- Up to date knowledge of the COVID 19 guidelines and regulations for licensed child care.
- Experience with food preparation
-Valid Safe Food Handling Ontario Certificate

Registered Early Childhood Educator

- Up to date Immunization Record
- French is an asset

Job Responsibilities:
- Meticulously manage the day-to- day operations of the classroom including, but not limited to: lesson instruction, daily recording, diapering, playground supervision, etc.
- Maintain a hygienic, neat, prepared and organized environment consistent with the Montessori pedagogy
- Develop effective relationships with parents and communicate with them daily
- Provide a program that complies with Ministry of Education requirements for licensed programming while incorporating Montessori Pedagogy
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and courtesy at all times
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of all relevant sections of the Child Care & Early Years Act
